Default What's your Xmas menu?

What's on the menu for your Xmas meal?
We are having a big lunch at my parents' place. there will be roast chicken for the meat eaters and for the vegetarians I think I'll do bulgar, cashew and mushroom bake. We'll have fresh peas and carrots and new potatoes and gravy, and sushi for entree. For dessert fresh berries, and my sister brought some vegan Christmas puddings and vegan 'cream' over from England. I'm making a Xmas cake and Al is making rum truffles. Oh, and we'll have lots of champagne too

wow tofu turkey - i look forward to hearing all about it so i could try it next year.

we always have pesto, home made pizzas, and a salad full of yummy things like sundried tomatoes, artichokes, spinach, sweet potato, pears.

then fresh fruit. this year i'm blending mango, banana and coconut milk and making iceblocks. and i'll make a dundee cake (for a change), mince pies, and some cold passionfruit custard.

yum yum yum

We're having lunch at a friend's house this year. She's doing leg ham, prawns and some salads, and I'm making (to take) cheese and mustard loaf, sun-dried tomato and basil loaf, strawberry meringue cake for dessert (stawberries with mascarpone and cream wedged between slices of hazelnut meal meringue), chocolate rum balls, Christmas cake and chocolate cream liqueur.

Mmmm, love the sound of that strawberry meringue cake!!

I think we'll be keeping it simple. Ham, salad, mango. No visitors expected.

I have been requested by my parents to make a huge summer pudding this year. That's our major contribution (have you seen the price of fresh berries???). Great to see so much variation in what people have on their menus though!

We are having seafood this year which is quite exciting. Normally we have a hot christmas lunch (turkey) but this year will be something different.
