    Default Worms in pregnancy

I'm pretty sure I have worms.
Can anyone help me out with some natural remedies?

    Thanks all

    Kind regards, Kathy

Oh, and obviously I'm pregnant so would therefore need something safe during pregnancy.

    Hi
-clove of garlic morning and night for ten days, repeat cycle after one week, can also have garlic suppository
    -citrus seed extract
-papaya enzyme, can buy as tablets
-raw pumpkin seeds, not pepitas but out of fresh pumpkin, ten a day for ten days repeat cycle etc
-a combination of these, also chew raw brown rice to paste and swallow, helps clean the bowel of eggs.
These remedies are all safe in pregnancy

Once you have passed the first trimester combantrim is safe or so everyone told me last p/g there is a phone line called Mothersafe run by the prince of wales hospital that can tell you about what medications are ok during p/g and b/fing. I rarely take any medication but eating a clove of garlic twice and day and a handful of raw rice on an empty stomach was to much for me. Good luck with it hope you find something that works for you.

eek that happened to me too! I was in the 3rd trimester and dr said the meds were not safe. I did the garlic thing (2 cloves a day, raw, you can chop them up and add them to food) and the worms' cycle is limited so you can stop the cycle if you are really scrupulous about hygiene. Unfortunately it's not adults who generally repeat the cycle but little kids who put fingers in mouths etc so easier said than done, but I was able to beat it thank goodness. A friend of mine had a natural herbal remedy but it was so incredibly vile that I couldn't force it down.

raw Garlic and raw rice are possibilities. Cooked and added to normal food wont do! The best advice my doctor gave me is below:
The most important think to know is that the cycle only lasts 6 weeks (i know that sounds like ages but it means they should be gone before you have to give birth!) The only way to repeat the cycle is if you transfer the eggs back into your mouth yourself. the worms need your help to hatch a new batch!! So, wash your hands all the time! Use a nail brush to get underneath your nails as the microscopic eggs can hide well! Try not to touch your **** but accept that you may itch in the night without realizing so wash your hands and bottom in the morning, as the eggs are laid at night between your buttocks!! Best still have a bath. Use a tissue or the shower to clean and wash your hands again!!! That way you only have 6 more weeks of irritation!
