Default Path to happiness?

Just something I'm wondering....

What do you think is the path to happiness?

Hmmm, this is a subject that can be very detailed, but a great question. For me, it's self reflection. When we are able to look at our actions, thoughts, motives we are more likely to be honest with ourselves over what lacking, needs to change or should stay the same. When I consider the people in my life that annoy me, I've realised it's often to do with the fact that they have no self reflection, thus make the same mistakes and have a failure to take responsibility for their actions.

Everyone makes mistakes and the wrong decisions. Being happy in oneself doesn't come from being perfect, but having the ability to analyse ourselves so we don't make the same mistakes.

Oh and having beautiful kiddies helps to be happy too

Interesting you say that 'cause I have been leaning towards thinking that happiness stems from mindfullness.

....then again, i wonder if I should clarify that and say that the path is also about "true" mindfullness - not just self-involvement but being aware of others.

Mindfullness and balance perhaps?

The paths to 'happiness' are numerous and unique to each individual, imo. So long as we can acknowledge that 'happiness' itself does not really exist!

Hmm, 'inner peace', imo, exists in the same way that 'happiness' does. Or doesn't.

Sorry, I realise that my comments may be perceived as unhelpful but in order to find a 'path to happiness' perhaps we first need to define 'happiness'?

Oooo is that a challenge Jodie? lol

Ok. Happiness, to me, is not a complete state but a majority state. A state of joy, laughter, glass half full thinking.
