Exclamation Inspiration for Meditation

OK, who wants to try and meditate everyday and post how you are going with it?? I need some inspiration to be a regular meditater!! I feel so much more calm and the family is happier when I do meditate but I always find excuses not to do it! The washing, the dishes etc. So, would anyone like to try a challenge type thing so we can meditate at least 10 mins or more a day for a week?? I've found that the more I look after my state of wellbeing I can give more love to others Come one come all

Well I do meditate regularly and also use visualisation because I suffer from panic attacks...I find it helpful for when I am having one and also for when I am sick. Now that Im a dab hand at it I think it would be really useful for labour as well. I dont do it daily though.

I find the time usually when I am breastfeeding dillon in bed, I sometimes use visualisation as well.

At the moment, not last night but the night before, I was quite sick with a panic attack ( I had convinced myself that Dillon was going to wake up and vomit everywhere and he didnt of course) to get myself through the night without vomiting or becoming too ill I focused on my breathing (which becomes very shallow and fast during a panic attack) so I slowed it down and I also used visualisation - a white rose which I imagined the smell, the image and I would say to myself "focus". This helps to keep irrational thoughts from entering my head.

Before I started using meditation and visualisation I would nearly always end up in an emergency room hyperventation, with gastro like symptoms. The methods I use now give me a great sense of wellbeing and also means that I can stay home during an attack which I must say, has really reduced in frequency since I started meditation and visualisation.

I also do more things now then I use too, like meet new people and go out to larger group gatherings which previously I would avoided like the plague.

I also use the image of a white rose when Im putting Dillon to sleep as a way of taking a break with my mind and getting it to the stage where I can empty it of other things to go into a deeper meditation.

I'd love to talk about new ways of using meditation and how I could get more benefits from it.....

xxx

hi there,

when I meditate, I usually spend time reading my Bible and pray. I do this early morning when the world is still asleep....I meditate on God's goodness and the gift of life that He has given me. I love counting my blessings..and whenever I have anxiety attacks (this is part of my MVP syndrome), I say a prayer and rebuke whatever negative feelings that I have at the moment. It really helps and aside from that, I play my Sound of Nature CD (with the sound of the everglades, birds and rainforest) and it helps soothes my mind and gives me a relaxing feeling.....

I'm the same as you Melany. I love meditating but I always seem to find excuses not to do it. I wonder what karma I have accumulated that has led me to this negative cycle?

Anyway, ok, I'll join in. Best time for me to meditate is after I've dropped off Jade at school and I can put playschool on for Sean. Instead of doing dishes/laundry like I always do, I'll set the timer for 10 mins and will meditate.

Wish me luck!

Okay, I'm jumping in too! I'd prefer to be able to do it in the morning, but atm that's not practical, so rather than not do it, I'm going to set aside 10 minutes before I go to bed.

Hi all, I'm proud to say that I've been meditating everyday and up to 30mins!! Also doing 30 mins of yoga!! I've decided that no matter how tired I am I make sure I do it every night before I go to bed. I feel so good for it and I'm much more patient, I'm feeling more confident because my body and mind are getting stronger!! Yay! Anyone else got updates??
