A ghost won't hurt ya. If you have one that wanted it presence felt you would have known it by now.

Maybe it's someone you know that cares about you and is protecting your family... from the scary burgulars!

I've lived in a house with a ghost before and s/he was a bit of prankster. I was never worried and sometimes s/he would be in the attic above our bedroom and moving chairs around noisy I would yell out to "shut up and do something quiet" and it would LOL

This energy is everywhere. If your not picking up on it, then dont worry about it.

Its kind of like knowing there are spiders and creepy crawly things that can bother us and creep us out of sitting on the ceiling above our bed (eww how I hate that! ) in the walls next to us and in the ceiling above us, but because we cant see them we dont let them bother us.

hmm not sure if that amde any sense

We definately knew we had a ghost(s) at our last place. Lights would turn off, and on. Music would start blaring in the middle of the night, and I just had the general feeling someone was watching me.

I'm a little annoyed because we've just moved and I thought I could finally feel at ease, but it seems we have something here too as two nights ago the bloody TV turned on, extremely loud and both remotes wouldn't work. I can't sleep after it happens.

I know you can use a smudge stick to rid of spirits, but we're not religious and I'm not comfortable with saying the lords prayer.

When I moved my Mum used a big bell around our house coz the people that owned it before us divorced while renovating it. She chimed the bell all through the house and it sang in certain parts. By the end, the bell made all the normal sounds in all parts of the house and I felt comfy in there and have ever since.
Might I add though, on the nght that we moved in we had ILs over for a bit helping us move. I had all the lights in the house switched on as a getting used to it comfort measure, and every time I looked down the hall, all the bedroom lights were off. I kept going in and turning them back on, and yet again they would be off. Freaked me out totally and I was prepared to move out again right away, but it turns out that MIL thought she was doing me a favour, and kept turning the lights off to save on electricity! Couldnt believe it!!!! ha ha ha

Kathi, this sounds more like a guide than a ghost, especially as he/she has followed you. Really nothing to be scared of, I actually feel safer when my guides are with me. If you feel uncomfortable and can't sleep, then just say as you walk through the door to your bedroom, you are not welcome here, please do not come in. You could also just try asking the guide not to wake you with loud music etc. However, the guide may be doing this because he/she wants to tell you something and you are not listening to the other signals. If I was you I would spend some time, in the dark, opening up myself to receiving the message. This is probably easy for me to say as I have done this for years, but please believe me, there is nothing to fear. Ghost, spirits, guides are very respectful even when we are not respectful to them.
I hope that helps.

S, I get scared whenever I think about trying to communicate with "them" though. I guess I'm worried they'll do something to really freak me out.

I grew up in a house with our ghost, "Chester". Like Kelli's ghost, he used to move furniture around (although downstairs, not upstairs). Also used to walk up the stairs & stop at the top (where our loungeroom was). I used to have to RUN past the hallway at the bottom of the stairs because the presence was so strong & being young, I was a little freaked.

In later years, I felt his hand on my shoulder one night when home alone, but it was a protective kind of thing. Hopefully, your visitor affords you the same protection.

Im constantly putting up walls to 'them' I hate feeling them there, but can really easily. I dont mind it so much and can do what Lavender was talking about with trying to tune in, if Im not alone in the house. But living on my own now (well adult wise ) It just freaks me out too much.. Mybe its feeling to vulnerable?
