Just wanting to let everyone around the Sydney area know of another fund-raiser that is being held to raise funds for the Australian Breastfeeding Association.

Robin Grille, psychologist, parent and author of "Parenting for a Peaceful World" will be talking about "Connecting with your toddler and young child" covering topic such as

* a brief history of punishment and shaming
* why smacking and punitive punishment is ineffective
* being affective and being assertive
* learning appropriate expression of parents needs and limits
* active listening
* the ingredients of a deep connection with your child

Date : Wednesday 20th Feb, 7.30pm to 9.30pm in Emu Plains.

$15 for ABA subscribers and $20 for general public. Light supper is provided.

One day I hope I get the opportunity to meet this author!
Really enjoyed that book and great to see that he is still working at getting the message out to the general public. The book is a little heavy going, I imagine the in-person talks would be a lot easier to digest!
Would love to hear from anyone whos going to this or has seen him before!

Me me me! I've met him before and even exchanged emails with him

His talks ARE much softer and easier to digest than the book. He is absolutely brilliant. Inspiring. Saw him at our ABA conference 18 months ago.
