Campbelltown Ap Group

I am trying to expand my circle of friends and support and have recently found some other AP ladies in my area so have decided to start an AP playgroup in the campbelltown area. We havent all discussed all the nitty gritty deatails yet but if anyone in the area is interested you can PM me and I can tell you the details

Also anyone already running an AP playgroup any tips etc would be great.

Good for you Melissa for getting this group started.
My best advice is just to start and let things flow on from there.....there is a lot of power in just "gethering" together.
Ideas for later on might be to have some guest speakers every now and then, go on outings together, share activities with the children....endless possibilities.
I hope you enjoy your new circle!

Im really excited about this. I started a little yahoo group so we can chat back and forth about it and so far we are goign well - theres 5 of us now

My advice is to try not to fuss too much with the time of meeting. Otherwise you can find it hard to meet at all!

5 is a great start Melissa - well done. I used to live near W'gong - so I know Campbelltown well enough....you are doing very well to have found 5 NPers near you!

My hubby used to live in Wollongong

now we are in Rosemeadow. We have agreed to meet weekly so if someone cant come one week there isnt long before the next and we have decided on a rotating roster for locations to try places out but only 8 weeks in advance so we arent getting carried away. Ive been setting up polls so we can vote which is good cause I know people are happy with the decisions so far LOL

Melissa, our group has been going for a while now, for the LONGEST time, it was just three of us! It didn't worry us, our kids got into a really good relationship with each other. So just take it slow.

When we started out we went to a community hall, but decided it was nicer to go to each other's houses, parks etc. We are now going to find a home at a community garden. At the begining we put up lots of posters with those rip off strips with our phone numbers on them and we dropped off lots of fliers to where ever we could think of. We drew up a media schedule LOL. We were in the local paper and the local radio. I think if we hadn't have done all those things, it would still have worked our really well

Our group has taken off lately because we met a doula and she refers her clients to us! As for toys, we made quite a lot of toys ourselves, but find we might need to do a separate craft circle instead of combining the two.

I built a website too

This has been handy to let everyone know what's happening everyweek.
