Roll Eyes Come celebrate 2yrs of the NBERC!

Just got sent this- hope its ok to post.

A Teddy Bears’ Picnic to Celebrate NBERC’s 2nd Birthday
A Teddy Bears’ picnic, combined with a huge garage sale and sausage sizzle, will be held on Sunday 5th November to celebrate two years since of the opening of The Natural Birth Education & Research Centre (NBERC).

The garage sale and sausage sizzle will commence at 9:00am at the centre’s entrance gate, 273 Lindendale Rd, Wollongbar. The Teddy Bear’s picnic will be held on the main lawn amongst the centre’s beautiful gardens from 11am. Then at 1pm local artist and author Chrissy Butler will be launching her new book “My Brother Jimi Jazz” as part of the birthday celebrations.

All are invited to bring their own rug and picnic lunch or purchase food from the sausage sizzle. Tea and coffee, juice and cake will also be available for sale, as will various local baby products. Children (and the young at heart) are encouraged to bring their favourite teddy bear and join in a day full of games, music, face painting, food, and fun.

The Natural Birth Education & Research Centre opened in October 2004 and offers the only midwifery service of its kind in Australia. The centre offers women safe childbirth care and post-natal accommodation, and complimentary pregnancy care. It also offers childbirth classes and birth support training, and is run as a not-for-profit charity.

Margaret Spain (Santo), the visionary behind NBERC appreciates the many people who have helped ensure options of maternity care are maintained within our local area. She says, “Safe maternity care can occur if birth technology does not superceed nature and government recommendations are supported by our politicians – we now know that after two years of operative service our concept is needed and and supported as appropriate to the needs of our specific birthing community".

The day will also be a fundraiser for the centre with an entrance fee of $10 per family being asked for the Teddy Bears’ picnic, and this includes an optional tour of the centres’ facilities. All monies raised on the day will go directly to work of NBERC.

For further information regarding this press release contact Margaret Spain (Santo) (02) 6629 5312 or 0412 725 353. Information regarding The Natural Birth Education & Research Centre is also available on-line at www.naturalbirth.org.au
