Default Far north NSW for Rent

Oh boy, the time has now come and I am looking for a place to rent! I would like to find somewhere between Coffs and the NSW/QLD border. We are currently living north of Coffs in my own home but I can't stay, he wont budge and I guess that means I've gotta. I would prefer west of the highway, ie Grafton, Lismore, Kyogle, Murwillumbah and surrounding areas, a little cottage in the middle of nowheresville would be ideal but if it's in town that's ok. I have 3 children, and would need two bedrooms, the boys share a room and Ruby is in with me, I would like a fenced yard for a 5yo desexed bitch, I have always lived with dogs ( I actually have 3 but will leave two with him) and I don't know if I could live without one now. she is a medium sized outside dog, cattle/wildlife friendly, used to being chained, doesn't bark unless someone tries to enter the yard. Any furniture would be a bonus because at this stage I'm leaving with what I can carry, Power and phone is optional. I can pay a maximum of $200 a week. But don't have enough funds up front for bond,I can pay extra for the 1st couple of weeks to cover it though. Have an excellent rental history if the counts. If anyone knows someone who might on a remote chance have a place for me I would be greatful

Wow Linda. I can't help you at all but just wanted to say I hope you find your paradise! Do you own the house together or is their some legal way to remove him? Just wondered. Strength to you anyway. xx

Hugs to you Linda. Have you thought about contacting anyone like the Salvos or St Vinnies? They might have access to some short term accommodation until you can get a bond together? I know in QLD you can access bond loans.......I'm really sorry, I can't remember the name of the agency that does it up here, I helped a friend out in a similar situation, but it was a few years ago now.......

Hi Linda!

Good luck with your move, I hope your new start is a success! I sencond the idea of contacting St Vinnies/The Salvos for some help with furniture and appliances. Also, contact the Department of Housing. They can pay your bond for you in certain circumstances, or offer an interest free loan. I was helped out with bond when I moved into my place, they were a saviour!

All the best,
Kerrie

Also, try www.domain.com.au and www.realestate.com.au for browsing available properties. You can browse by area, price range, number of bedrooms and so on. Some have pictures too.

Good luck!

Thanks for that, I have always felt a bit funny about asking charities for help. I will keep on keeping on.
