I would go for it if you think your family would love it. Coming form someone who was moved around a lot as a child I can say it didn't affect me too much. I can go back on holidays and spend time remembering great memories.

I can honestly say any friends I made as a young child I don't even remember most of their names and the ones I do remember I don't wish I had of remained in contact with them. It wasn't until late high school that I made friends who I sometimes keep in contact with.

She believes that stable and 'secure' family life is what kids need, not chasing dreams around the world.

I don't think these are opposites at all, and teaching your children (by following your example) to follow their dreams is such a valuable gift to them.

i was 7 we we went to live in holland for 12 months it was one of the best things we ever did it will broaden the horrizens of your kids no end... my only concern is your eldest DD mind you at 12 wee spent 6 weeks travling QLD FROM SA AND I LOVED THAT AS WELL...
