Unhappy Women and heart attack

Did you know that the symptoms women have of heart attacks are very different from how they manifest in men?
It really irritates me when people publicise the pain in the arm, chest pain thing as if it happens to both men and women when it just doesn't.
And in Australia, actually more women die of heart attacks than men, simply because even doctors only know what symptoms men experience.
So here's some signs to watch for in your mum or your nanna - or yourself in a few years maybe...

The symptoms most commonly reported were unusual fatigue (70.6-percent), sleep disturbance (47.8-percent), and shortness of breath (42.1-percent).

The women's major symptoms prior to their heart attack included:

Unusual fatigue - 70%

Sleep disturbance - 48%

Shortness of breath - 42%

Indigestion - 39%

Hey, thanks, meme. Google is my best friend

Yeah, Marianna. The traditional symptoms have hijacked the issue... Reminds me of all those drugs that only get tested on men so we have no idea what they do to women or if they're even effective... And all those diseases that women die of because people only look for how they happen in men...

I could on. I shall now stop.

Jamie most drugs for HIV and AIDS were only tested on men. But then the AIDS-related conditions women die from weren't recognised as AIDS-related because men weren't getting them and men's illnesses were the only recognised ones. Hard for men to get ovarian cancer... I've got a list of others somewhere. I'll hunt them out

just like they make assumptions about human reactions to drugs based on what they observe in lab rats.

We got some smart fellas running the show huh?
