Default fluid in ear, any tips?

DS has been all over the place with this ''problem''
First the clinic were worried as he wasn't saying anything at 12 months, then doc said he had a dull ear. specialist said it was his throat.... but saw the dull ear and sent us to hearing test.
Hearing test is fine but he does have some fluid behind his right ear drum, said it wasn't too bad and that there are over the counter medicines to dry it up but suggested goin to docs first. So this morning we went back to the docs, she didn't want to do anything, when i told her what the audiologist had suggested her only thought was of antibiotics,
but i don't want to give him them unless completly nessecary!
So does anyone know of a alternative solution to dry up a non infected ear?

have you considered seeing an osteopath? They can help the ear drain away fluid..
