Whooping cough vac for adults??

Has your Dr or nurse ever suggested that you get a jab for Whooping cough? Just wondering.....

I asked my doc about it as there was a huge big sticker on Ds's blue book adviseing you to get it.
My doc didn't see the need, so i didn't get it or really look into. Had enough to contend with at the time. I suppose i should do a bit of research.....

I'm pretty sure if an adult were to get whooping cough, it could be treated pretty easily, just like with a child.
Medical science has come along way since the last break out.

the jabs we all got as kids run out at about age 19 - lucky me I got it bang on then - it sucked but it wasn't as terrible as i'd thought it might be (i had a middle of the range dose of it apparently) but i wouldn't have gotten a shot for it

It stopped me breathing as a babe, so I wouldn't even consider it as an adult.

Yow, Ny! Scary stuff.

Whooping cough is most dangerous for babies. My understanding - very rarely fatal in adults, at least in te Western world.

The vax almost killed Aiden at 12 months old.
A week in ICU for severe asthma symptoms which started 4 hours after the vax.. he had never had breathing problems before then.
