Re: Cancer jab linked to pancreas disease
I'm generally pro-vaccination. But I would like more objective, accurate information to be made available to people thinking about vaccinations. At my local GP, there's an advertising board full of leaflets on "health issues". Most of them are from drug and vaccine manufacturers - including Gardasil. The board provider's information for potential advertisers says that "43% of doctors say that patients bring the brochure into the consultation with them, and it is used as a point of discussion". The company also provide "information packs" to doctors with product samples and information. And in all the glossy leaflets that I read about vaccines and drugs, the serious side effects and percentage of people affected are not mentioned or glossed over. How am I supposed to trust a company that doesn't give me the information to make my own choice?
Drug companies need to stop panicking that nobody will use their product if they tell us the truth. I got objective information about risks and percentages and side effects for a vaccination for my toddler had, and still chose to have the vaccine. But I felt better about doing it because I knew what to look out for afterwards, and didn't feel that I was being tricked into thinking it would be perfect.
