When your child has diarrohea virus
What do you do?
What do you give them to eat?
Do you "treat" them with anything?
Our DD has the bug - disgusting poos and vomit last night.
She still tells me she is hungry, but she also tells me that her tummy is sore Poor little one.
I've given her some raspberry jam on a cracker. Hoping that will do it's trick.
Anyway - share with me!!!

Re: When your child has diarrohea virus
Extra bf's or watered down juice for older kids.
Go easy on foods - no dairy as it aggravates irritated guts.
When they do eat, pureed fruit or raspberry jam on toast is nice. Roast spuds are popular too.
A warm bath helps with grumpy, achey bodies. And curling up on the couch to watch favourite movies with a cuddly blankie and teddy.
Hope your girl is feeling better soon.

Re: When your child has diarrohea virus
Your poor little one. I hope she is feeling better soon. It looks like a few of our little girls have had a bit of a rough week.
We have some homeopathics called diarplex and organo bowel/ digest on hand. They seem to help.
As for food, raspberry jam and we follow Sears guide with the exception of electolyte drinks.

Re: When your child has diarrohea virus
Hope she feels better soon, seems like everyone seems to have something at the moment. We haven't had a tummy/diarrohea thing for ages thank goodness. I keep icypoles in the freezer and I guess it's just any fluids, even juice if it's all they'll take, bm for the little one of course and then anything mild like yogurt or toast to eat when they can. Even ice-cream i think once. Just to get calories. Oooh I have to go get DD from school, nearly forgot...

Hope she is feeling better soon.
I often snack on dry cereal when sick with a tummy bug.

Re: When your child has diarrohea virus
Apart from all the above, grated apple, left to brown before being eaten.

Re: When your child has diarrohea virus
Thanks to everyone!
The grated apple left to go brown - of course! I am always stunned at how, when my children are ill, I often forget all of these magic remedies......but if someone else's children aren't well, I seem to be able to offer a few suggestions!!! Weird.....
DD is over it. Quick bug. Probably just over 24 hours.
Thanks again!

Glad to hear she's over it. How's your washing workload though?
