Default hip pain

Hi there,

For the past few months I've been experiencing a pain in my left hip.
I'm pretty sure it's due to carrying my son!
Which I suppose is pretty common, I have a
hug a bub and use it when I plan to carry ds.
But it's the little pick up and carries that I know are causeing the damage.
It feels like it just needs a good stretch and 'pop' to fix it! I go to yoga once a week and do some stretchs now and then , but nothing
seems to be shifting it.
I'm also 13 weeks pregnant, not sure if that would be affecting my hips already??
Does anyone have any ideas on how to help?
It is just constantly niggling away and is getting very frustrating, I feel like I'm constantly trying to stretch or twist I can't sit still!
Any advice would be great! thanks

An osteopath may help, but I found the most relief from acupuncture!

Other than that, always bend the knees to pick up DS & alternate hips (although I know it often feels more natural on one side). And yes, the relaxin could well be affecting things already. Did I mention acupuncture???

yep, definitely osteo or chiro, or whoever you prefer to see. the second i was pregnant this time around, my hips tarted getting so sore in bed. then i started getting a really bad 'catching' pain in my left hip - usually when standing up after sitting or lying down. i carry dd1 predominantly on the left, and when i went to my chiro, things were rather wonky indeed - one visit to him and it made a world of difference. i really notice it now only if ive carried dd alot, so as a consequence, she is now walking a lot more than she had been!!!!

hope you can get some relief soon

Thanks for the feedback.

I've been to Chiro several times before and found it quite good. What is the difference between that and Osteo??
I had wondered about acupunture, I had a friend practise it on me once, but I wasn't in pain at the time so was hard to know how well it worked.
I was hoping i could do something myself to
save the expense, but it's getting to the point now that something has to be done!

Thanks Again

hey learner mum,
chiros just crack you, osteos give you a massage (or they have someone who does the massage) on the affected area, before they do any adjustments.

i do believe that osteos are more thorough, and it is more gentle on the body to have the muscles worked on, before any bones are moved. ... comes down to personal preference, avaliability of practitioner and what you can afford. chiro you are looking at between $40 and $60 for a 5 - 10 minute treatment. osteo ism ore like $60 to $80, but you would preobably get a minumum treatment time of 1/2 hour, good ones will give you a full hour.

accupunture might be good too - depends if you can find a good practitioner (as with all modalities). i have had great pain relief and structural realignment with accupuncture, but ive also have treatments that have done nothing really noticeable.

hope that is of some help to you
