Default Vax-neutral GP's in Brisbane/Ipswich?

I'm looking for a vax-neutral GP in Ipswich or Brissie. I live in Ipswich and while our GP is lovely, unfortunately she is very pro-vax and not aware of all the research (nor willing to look into it). I just got the Dr. Sears Vaccine Book and am looking for a GP who is willing to discuss the pros and cons of delaying/skipping vaxes with me, and order them separately if desired.

Know of anyone? Would love to find out.

TIA!

Ozgal

I'm of no help for QLD...but just couldn't resist my rant....

ARGH! Some GPs frustrate me! You are simply *asking* for some *information*. You are being a responsible parent, wishing to make an INFORMED (and very important) decision for your child. Who cares what the GP thinks about the issue - surely it's their job to let you know all sides to the story? Far out.

ARGH! Your current GP needs a kick up the backside.

We have a beautiful natropath in Sydney who never once tried to sway us one way or the other. Never did she tell us her thoughts on the matter...she simply gave us information from both sides and referred us to current information and books. When I probed her for her thoughts, she would simply say something to the effect of "it's a very important and difficult decision that only you, as the parents can make".

Maybe a natropath around your area might be able to provide some unbiased info, if you can't find a GP?

Im in Ipswich and although I havent found any vax nautral drs (havent looked though) I do know of a truely lovely GP. He costs a bit though as they dont bulk bill and he's damn hard to see (always booked out) but if you can, try to get in to see Dr Miles Meyrick, hes at the Grange Rd Medical centre in the Raceviewey Eastern Heights type area.
There are also some ok drs at the Medicross Medical Centre near the hospital (they bulk bill). They'd be your best two bets there.

My Dr at Sunnybank helped us choose W's selective schedule. He's 2, and he's had-
Diptheria-tetanus-pertussis at 5, 8, and 14 months. We travelled to Thailand when W was 9 months which is why we opted for tetanus mainly. He's had nothing at birth or any other time, though I'm going to take him in to get Pheumococcal and Meningococcal over the next several months now he's older and only needs the one injection.

PM me for his details if you like.

So far I've only had one doctor (Paddo medical centre) who said "if you aren't sure then don't vaccinate", but he is pro-vaccinating, so perhaps he had an off day! I've been to 2 at Kenmore who are naggers, 1 at Indro (the bulk billers at the bottom opp woollies) who also are preachy. So I continue to search.... It's such a hard decision and currently I am a 'delayer' rather than refusing to vaccinate. Even finding a DR to agree to that is hard work!
