Zinc supplement making me sick! Help!

Oh goodness, this is AWFUL!! The naturopath prescribed a zinc supplement for me, and it's making me feel so sick! I had zinc supplements in September, and they made me feel nauseaus and wretch. I found that if I took it in a full stomach though, I was fine. I took some again yesterday after seeing the naturopath again (for something else), on a full stomach, and within 10 minutes, I had a huge vomiting session Why is this happening??? What can I do to stop it?? The naturopath has said it's very important that I take them...what can I do????

Did she do a zinc test to find out if you auctually need it... its a taste test... oh and its good for ttc Im sorry its making you feel sick

She did one last time I went in, but didn't this time.

Zinc must always be taken after eating food otherwise it will make you sick. If it is still making you sick then you probably need to take smaller doses. Talk to your naturopath about taking smaller doses more often. (Always, always on a full stomach!)

My naturopath is of the opinion that cause it doesn't make *her* sick, it's not really a problem :/ She's got me taking 2 tabs, so I'll split the dose and make sure it's on a full stomach. Thanks

I am very tempted, but it's part of the treatment for this horrible recurrent thrush I've got, so I think I'll try and stick it out

I believe it's fairly common for zinc in those doses to make you feel ill. Food and less will probably help. And I HATE the zinc taste test too!

Could you try taking it after dinner or just before you go to bed, that way you are (hopefully) sleeping through the worst of it. Hope it gets better soon for you Kez.

I am gonna try that Karena, but as I was vomiting 10 min after taking it yesterday, I'm not holding much hope!
