Has anyone tried these cocky strips or have any suggestions how I can cut down on the population that are in my kitchen? I can't track down any borax to mix with icing sugar and I really want to avoid chemicals. |

Have not tried them - link doesn't give away much info - do the strips "attract" the roaches?? - If so I wouldn't use them - I tried those moth traps once, the ones where the moths were naturally attracted to the strip (triangle thing) and all it did was ATTRACT more. good luck

We used the strips and they did attract a few tiny ones, but the big ones were still having a party elsewhere. Unfortunately they also attracted some beautiful fat little geckos which got stuck to the strips. I performed emergency surgery with my 2 assistants to get them off, but one had been there too long and was dead. It was really ahrd to get them off too - that stuff is sooooo sticky. Anyway, we chucked them after

I am currently using some of the sticky attracting ones and don't like them. Louise did you use the one in the link or a different sticky one? Monique, yes, hide from cat. I read a sad story online about a lady who left some where the cat could get it. In the past we used it along the fridge and under kitchen drawers. Kathi, I will have another look at the hardware but it doesn't seem to be available at all here. When I ask I get blank expressions. |

Have you tried wiping down benches, all door and window frames with orange oil or lavender oil? Cockroaches and other insects don't like the smell and will run a mile from it - and it wil make the house smell nice at the same time! |

Thanks for the suggestion. They like to lurk near my dishwasher so I might pull it out and put some there. |

Hi Lisa Sorry - did not check the link before and wrongly assumed they were the sticky 'attracting' type rather than repelling. They were a bit like the sticky moth traps (which I find fantastic I must say). Let us know how they go if you get some - very interested to know. We don't get that many, but I am very wary as there is always vegie scraps lying around our kitchen in some shape or form. Actually, I think the worm farm is the cockies favourite hang out and so maybe they don't bother to come inside?
