Hi there,

Which nappies are you using? If you are using weenies, they degrade completely. You can put the wet ones in the compost or worm farm.

I haven't tried any others, but if they claim to be fully biodegradable, you should be able to.

I use gdiapers sometimes (do you have them there?), and they do say that they (the wet ones) can be composted.

depends on the brand... some you can only do thw the stuffing some you can do the lot not so good for worm farms but a digging compost is fine we do well wil be doing a hole in the grown and cover needles to say you cant compost the pooy ones...

Hi there,

gdiapers are called eenee weenee nappies here. Its actually an Tasmanian company that developed them, and then they were launched in the US and renamed gdiapers.

They are 100% compostable, because they are just the pads, the lining etc is separate and washable.

I used them for about the first 6 months for DD, and they were great. For us, after DD started on solids it got more difficult, since then the covers were often dirty too and we had to wash them almost every time, which was sort of beside the point of having a disposable nappy. But now that I am not so sleep deprived, I might try them again in the largest size.

Apart from weenees, the next best eco-disposable are either Tushies or Moltex, but with each of these only the inner part is really compostable - the outer part doesn't break down well.

You can get them all online, so its quite convenient.

And of course you can only compost wet ones... solid waste needs to go in the toilet.
I put a Moltex in the compost when I tried them a few years ago, and it was totally gone in 3 weeks. But I don't know if they've changed the outer material since then.
