OK, so we stick to the 'if its yellow, let it mellow' when it comes to toileting in this family. My question is......... how to get the bowl clean? I tend to use bicard/vinegar, but tbh I could use packets of the stuff and still only get it half clean. ANy ideas.

Hello! How about a few drops of eucalyptus oil?

I'm frustrated with the "yellow mellow" method in our house currently because it seems to end up being several peoples yellow mellowing before I eventually flush it in disgust. So how many yellows should you mellow before you flush? Of course it's often a brown stewing too because miss 5 has a terminal case of forgetfuls with flushing as well as hand washing. Aaaah lovely topic, how to get it clean, I confess I haven't tried anything too green yet, it's industrial for me. I should look for alternatives though so I'll take other replies into account too. Em

Tried the Euc oil - not much effect. As for the vinegar overnight - doesn't help that I have a pregnant bladder And Em - your post had my PMSL!!

We also get the many mellows sitting, mellowing together. Sometimes, we even get the brown one contributing, too :( I use our ensuite toilet and the others tend to use the bathroom one most of all....and we all know what happens if Mummy isn't aware of what's going on in one room of the house

I use the Enjo toilet thingy - probably clean it once a week. Does a good job, no smell - and that's with 3 males in the house!

ive also had this problem and have to admit i largely gave up on the mellowing. we have a fairly low water usage and i way weighing up the 2 things - i could mellow, but probalby have to resort to harsher cleaning products but save water.......or i could stop the mellowing and stick to my eco cleaning productsbut use more water. I also bought an "Eco Store" toilet cleaner and that makes me imagine it looks cleaner but im sure it probably doesnt! I was getting a horrible red slimy mould growth happening on the loo brush when just using bicarb, vinegar and euc oil( i threw out a few that i couldnt get the stuff off it eeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwww) And the Eco store stuff so far - no festy gunk lovely topic this, lol But i have been meaning to discuss this for a while too!
