Question Recycling

Hoping someone can help me with this.
My son is on gastrostomy feeding (feeding thru a button in his stomach) and has a special pre-made formula.
He goes thru 100 bottles a fortnight (they are 200ml).
As far as I am aware, to be able to recycle glass, it must be rinsed out before putting in recycle bin.
As you can imagine that would be a lot of wasted water.
What do you recommend I do? Wash them out or not? If not, can I still put in recycle bin?
TIA

Maybe rinse the bottles out in a bucket of water and then recycle the water into your garden?

We did a tour of a recycling plant in Melbourne a year or two ago. They said that rinsing was nice, but not really necessary - just makes it more pleasant smell wise for the workers if not sour milk and things.

If you rinse immediately then there really should be very little water used.

We're expressly told to NOT rinse recycling where we live, due to the drought.

As Jakaluma said, the rinsing is just for the benefit of the workers. All the glass gets crushed and sterilized before recycling.
