The most natural one I know of is the one i make for DH's work shirt collars - it't great for grease etc... but it will still stink, because the main ingredient is ammonia. It's just ammonia, water and some washing soda dissolved together, but it still stinks despite how natural it is. If you want the exact directions, pm me and I'll find it.... |

I remember an experiment at college when we made ammonia and the chemistry teacher asked asthmatics to leave the room as it does something to them Orange Power make a pre-wash stain remover that is bound to be better than the mainstream brands. Alternatively there is always bicarb and white vinegar as a paste. |

soak a bar of soap in some water for a few days, or collect the little left over bits of soap in a jar of water. When all mushy, rub this over the stain and work in. Wash as normal. Difficult/greasy/oily stains come out brillantly with eucalyptus oil in a bit of warm water.

Id not heard of using bicarb and vingegar with stains ( i use them for almost every other cleaning job!) and I also hadnt heard of eucalyptus for stains either!( i knew it was great for removing sticky stuff!!) Wow what a source of info you all are! i use the orange power prewash and find it great, and the orange smell is much more pleasant than all the other brands....I was really happy to find this as i wanted something eco and animal friendly ( not easy to find) My mum always used Sard Wonder soap and nappy san soap, and tells me to try it - but their animal fat content (sodium tallowate) means I won't buy it ( im a vego) and im I also dont think they are eco friendly? peace, spiral x |
