Default Smacking help

I can't believe I even need to ask, but can anyone direct me to some easy to read anti-smacking articles?

Even though I thought DH and I had agreed on gentle parenting discipline methods, it seems that he still thinks that premeditated smacking is okay. Aaarrrggghhh! I need something to show him how inconsistent parenting methods is not good as well as the damage even 'little' smacks will cause.

I've checked out the links on the naturalchild.org website but am looking for some more.

Thanks!

Have you read Alfie Kohn's "unconditional parenting"?

This is a great read - he discusses in detail why punishment doesn't work...

Go out at get Steve Biddulph's More Secrets of Happy Children - it's $25, easy to read and written by a bloke so your husband might be able to relate to it well

I've read various Alfie Kohn articles and love his work. I've actually got Unconditional Parenting on order but it seems to have dissappeared in transit >( Even if we did have the book, I'd have a hard time trying to get DH to read it all. In the past, I've had to put those post it tags on certain pages with instructions to read which paragraphs that I deemed important

That's why I'm looking for some succinct articles that words the argument better than I can during the heat of a 'discussion'.

We've got some of Steve Biddulp's books but DH doesn't like them. I have to admit that I don't think he's that great either (a bit neither here nor there).

I was going to recommend Parenting for a Peaceful World by Robin Grille - but if he's not reading then it's no help.
