Re: some green links of interest
thanks Kelli, I've opened a new gmail for freecycle and it looks great. Love recycling things! Our council does 2 pick ups a year if you phone and book them rather than the 'put your things out on this date' ones - means you don't get that fun 'lets have a wander and see what we can use' walk! So now I can do it virtually

You know I have completely missed this thread! Thanks Justine for bumping it!
Here's a few other sites:
Seed Savers Network - swap seeds for the garden
eSwap - aussie auction site where you pay by swapping rather than by cash. Not yet a lot of stuff there but hopefully it would get bigger!

Re: some green links of interest
Save the environment - save our kids: I have read many articles that lead me to believe that the toxins in our common everyday household comsumable are harmful to our children with every breath they take. Just a few quotes that have been published below. My daughters asthma has almost disappear since I switched to natural products
Some products release contaminants into the air right away, others do so gradually over a period of time. Some stay in the air up to a year. These contaminants, found in many household and personal care products can cause dizziness, nausea, allergic reactions, eye/skin/respiratory tract irritations and some cause cancer.
[American Lung Association]
Asthma was once a very rare disease. Now the condition is extremely common - the asthma rate has tripled in the last 20 years with nearly 30 million Americans currently afflicted.
[Source: Consumer Federation of America, 1997]
In one decade, there has been a 42% increase in asthma (29% for men, 82% for women). The higher rate for women is believed to be due to women's longer exposure times to household chemicals. [Source: Center for Disease Control]
Asthma death in children and young people increased by a dramatic 118% between 1980 and 1993.
It's scary what we don't know or are not told. The biggest threat is in our own home.

Here's one that will open our eyes to the effects off toxic chemicals on our kids:
Obviously the big manufacuting companys don't want this information made too available, it would cut into their profits!
