Anyone into photography?

I love taking photos and try to take "good" ones all the time.

I would really like to do a photography course, but do not wish to work in the area, just as a hobby really.

Can anyone recommend any courses in Brisbane? I don't really want to do an online cours e- I wuld like to get out of the house and meet people too.

Oh and other than taking lots of photos - I really don't know anything about photography.

Agree with Kelli - I did a TAFE adult community ed course in photography a few years ago and it was good - it was just one of those weekend courses. It covered the technical aspects much more than the artistic / composition aspects of photography, but that was what I wanted at the time. Of course different teachers might cover different things in their courses. And that was back in the days before digital cameras became widespread so it was all about taking photos with an (old-fashioned analogue) SLR camera. Might be different now though?

Another option, particularly for meeting people, could be to join a photography club.

Never did make it though, and I suspect that I wouldn't learn much now.

I'm a stock photographer, and when I'm not trying to build a house, I love taking photos.

Kelli what are community houses? I've possibly been out of the country too long

I didn't think of a photography club - I really don't know anything technical at all, so not sure that I would "fit" in - but will definitely go after I feel I know something. Might contact them though for some ideas.

Tamara, I just found that link too - it looks pretty good - I like that its only once a week, not sure about the price. I am looking to find some others, so that I can price compare now.

This is something I want to do as well. I love taking photos (have waaay too many). Will have to check out what's available in my area too.
