Default Look at what I made!

I am bragging all over the place over this, but can't help myself.

Anyway, I made an outfit for Sean using a 100% wool jumper from an Op Shop!

I think its pretty groovy - and I did it with a 60s theme in mind.

The legs were made using the arms of the jumper (idea from: http://www.cafepress.com/thatskindacool/864331)

The vest was from the body of the jumper (did this just off the top of my head). I just blanket stitched it all around with the lapel bits just a variation from the blanket stitch.

And the hat was made using the waistband and what's left of the jumper. The hat was really fiddly but I'm really happy with how it turned out. I was trying to copy a 60s hippie hat.

Thanks all!

Jodie - I actually did toy with the idea of sewing black wool plaits on the hat for the dreadlock look! hehehe Thought it was a bit of overkill.

Nikki - I did this by hand-sewing. I am only just learning how to sew and this is my 3rd sewing project. Its surprisingly easy to sew with wool (especially felted wool). Wool seems to hide a lot of mistakes! FWIW, I still can't sew a hem or sew a button, but wool is really easy!

Thanks Sheryn! Actually, it was your birthing doll that first got me interested in learning how to sew. I've been meaning to tell you that and say a HUGE thank you for opening up a new world for me. (Am still working my way towards evenutally sewing a mumma and bubba doll one day). Thanks again!
