Macee running late
After a perfect pregancy I had visions of my body doing what it had to and sliding our new baby graciously into the world but it was not meant to be. The due date came and went with not so much as a twinge. I had a bad bout of gastro on day 11 over due and went to the doc for that and for her to book me in for an induction. Although I had resigned to being induced I wasnt really happy about it. She did an internal(yuck) and said that my cervix was still "very closed" and booked me into a hospital 2 hours away from where I live.

Well that night, only hours after seeing the doc, I started getting , what I thought was braxton hicks. But by midnight they were 5 mins apart. My very nervous husband decided to take me to our beautiful local hospital ,which is where I really wanted to have the baby.Convinced they would be sending me home, I was very surprised to find out I was 2cm dialated and in labour.
With no energy from being so sick the process was long and slow but fortunatly they let me labour without rushing me. Eventually they decided to ROM to speed things up and this worked for a while but not enough. Then I was given Oxitocin to speed it up more. I had the urge to push but was only 8cm and told not to. This by far was the hardest part. Not pushing for an hour and a half was agony! finally the doc said push and push I did. But after 22 hours labour baby finally started to get distressed so the decision was made for a vacuum extraction and before I knew it Macee was on my chest. I did it! and all drug free too. I was so proud of myself.
The best part was I was able to be part of the decisions made as I had educated myself of the options I had before hand. I felt very much a part of the process as opposed to have it "done" to me.
And it never got so painful as I couldnt do 1 more contraction. 1 at a time is the best way. Good luck all
