Default still spotting at 10 weeks post natal?

Was wondering if anyone else has any experience with spotting on and off after giving birth?
ds2 is 10 weeks today and I bled normally for 5 weeks post natal. I have been going a week with nothing, then a couple of days spotting then another week nothing. This time its been about 1.5 weeks nothing, now spotting again.

Has anyone else spotted for that long?

Sorry only have a min but if you are breastfeeding you can get spotting (or on minipill) as the hormones are sort of 'stabilising'... hth

I bled off and on, mostly lightly after the initial heavy week/two. for 9 weeks.
My dr was almost going to do further investigation when it just stopped.
I was over it too though so I hope yours goes soon.

Hi Littlebean,

After DS#3 I bled heavily for 6 weeks then spotted for over a month. The spotting would increase after a breastfeed. A child health nurse suggested that I was still spotting as I was being a busy Mum to three little boys and probably couldn't rest as much as I should. It eventually stopped at about 13 weeks post natal!

Cheers
Catherine

I would get it checked out. I had spotting/bleeding for 10 weeks then nothing, then passed a small piece of tissue at 12/13 weeks. It ended up being retained placenta and back in for another D&C. No harm in getting it investigated?? I hope its nothing...

I ended up going getting an ultrasound done as was still spotting at 12 weeks- nothing there though, which was a great relief.
They did see a stitch still inside though, that hadn't disolved yet. Silly me didnt think to ask at the time where exactly it was. Apparently that could have caused the extended bleeding....seems a little odd....
