Default DIY sling/carrier/pouch?

Does anybody know how to make their own slings/carriers/pouches?

I saw a woman last week with a little bub and what looked like a sling she had made herself. It looked SO comfy and soft.

It was more of a wrap/pouch sort of sling.

Anybody know anything about it??

I made my own mei tai and numerous ring slings. Ring slings are really cheap, easy and quick to make. I forget the measurements I use...I think it's about 2m long and 70cm wide (I prefer a narrower piece of material so bub doesn't lie or sit too deep). You can google the net (or maybe even on here) for instructions.

Making a mei tai is relatively easy, but takes time- took me about 5 hours, but so worth it! I don't have a link, but if you google 'scando mei tai' you should find instructions.

Yeah ditto to skn. I think a lot of mums here have made their own slings and carriers.

My absolute favourite website for sling making - so many styles and excellent instruction. I just made myself a ring sling using the instruction here on the weekend (actually, I made two, one for me, one for a friend)

I picked one I would really LOVE to make.

Can anyone help a sewing-machine illiterate me figure it out a little?
Or can I pay someone to make it for me?

That looks like a mei tai type carrier.... After looking at it, I think this one would be more supportive. It's the one skn was talking about:

I'm in the process of making one for friends. It's not too tricky (I say that now but I haven't finished it yet).

It is very close to a Mei Tai. I have a Mei Tai though and don't like the shoulder straps.
I like the ones on that one.

The little hoody thing on that one is a great idea though!

I've seen a home-made Frankenkozy, it looked pretty good. Although I don't know how easy it is, as the woman who made it was a very experienced sewer and her definition of easy might be different to mine...

I am NOT a very good sewer but I gave it a go.
I found it was easier to look at the photo of the finished one and plot it out myself.

Worked out well!
I even took a photo of it today when I put it on quickly to try it out. Baylee loved it!

I did pull the straps across to go all the way over my shoulders instead of cutting across like it is in the photo, MUCH nicer.

I am super proud of myself!
Ignore the mess, I am re-organising..
