Default babyhawk or ellaroo mei tai?

Can anyone tell me your experience of either/both babyhawk or ellaroo mei tai? They both look pretty, but I'm wondering if they have different features/quality?Thanks

How old & heavy is your baby?

The Ellaroo (ER) is slighly narrower than the Babyhawk (BH), but they're about the same height. The BH fabric is a bit sturdier so will need to bit of breaking in to get soft, while ER fabric is soft off the bat. The BH straps have more padding on them, which make them a bit more supportive IMO but also warmer to wear in hot weather. Both have the headrest, but the headrest on the BH is thicker and studier, so support sleeping head a bit better. HTH!

You can find reviews of both brands at www.thebabywearer.com
Not sure about Babyhawk, but you can get an organic version of the Ellaroo if you prefer more eco-friendly fibres.

Thank you! I'm still deciding which one to get...my baby is nearly 4 months old. I have been using HAB but it's a little fiddly when I go out and am thinking that MT may be easier.

Sling_dad, can you recommend a better one? or is there any other maker that makes a good MT?

Thanks again!

For a 4 month old, it might still be worthwhile getting one that has a sleep hood or neck support for when they fall asleep being carried.

You can go back to www.thebabywearer.com and search for the mei tai that has the best review star rating. You can also join the Baby Carriers Down Under group (link in sling_dad's sig) and borrow some from the loaner database. I find that try-before-you-buy is the best way to make sure you get the one that best suits you and your baby.

Both the Babyhawk & Ellaroo have a headrest. There are quite a lot of good MTs out there, and fit will depend a lot on your body type and personal preference. Trying before you buy like Emma said is a good idea. Can you tell me a bit about your body type? Are you petite, average, have narrow shoulders, etc.? Do you want the option of facing out?

I'm 158cm tall and wears size S... am I considered petite? My baby will love the option of facing out.

I applied to join the babywearer downunder group a few days ago. So hopefully I get to try few MTs before I purchase one myself.
