Default Peanut shell- r u happy with it?

Does anyone out there have a peanut shell and have they been happy with it? All though not really needing another sling/carrier (I have 3 different ones!), I am rather taken with the look of the microfleece peanut shell- does anyone have any comments on it?

You can check out reviews of different brands at www.thebabywearer.com

I notice your baby is due in winter, but a pouch is handy for carrying older babies on your hip as well as carrying newborns. You might find a pouch made from a natural fibre like cotton or hemp is not as hot in summer.

Can you sew?? Pouches are super easy to make.

Having seen/had a go of the peanut shell, I can't tell any difference between it and Hotslings (except for the price, PS is usually more exxy) though I don't think HS has fleece in their range, I could be wrong.

Ah yes, and fleece in a pouch is ok for little bubs, but as they start to grow the fleece pouch can be less comfortable than other fabrics, just because there is increased stretch potential in fleece. I didn't find an issue with my DD and our fleece pouch but then she didn't hit 10kg until 2.

Ugh, hot and tired - hope the above made sense.

Thanks for the link Emd- very interesting!
Maybe I should have a go at sewing one, then that would counter balance a little the fact that really I am just being greedy and want a fleece pouch while its winter and the baby is little. Come summer and a little older- straight back to the ergo. Greedy, greedy.... (its just they look so darn cosy and comfy in that fleece pouch!)

I totally understand the desire for getting the perfect newborn carrier!
I had a custom-dyed hemp silk ring sling on order as soon as I knew I was pregnant with my last baby.
