Has anyone ever put together a small, hand-out-able pamphlet about slings? Just very basic like, "This is a ring sling, they range in price from blah to blah and you can find them at the following sites/places. This is a mei tai..." ? Because I seriously get the loveliest comments every single time I am out and about with my baby in a sling (usually a ring sling, sometimes an Ergo or homemade mei tai and occasionally an embarrassing bright orange piece of fabric that I use as a wrap and I feel like a weirdo wearing it but Jacinta loves to face out in it.). And at least every other time I am out and about I get someone coming up and asking where I got it from because they or someone they know is having a baby and would be interested, etc. It's usually just in passing so I kind of just give the standard, "You can find them online." My ring sling is from www.bearhugbaby.com.au (haven't even been back to that site in ages so I should do that so I can remember the price. People ask me that, too.) and it has the name and web address on the sling so I've had a couple people copy it down. But I'd love to hand out something to give people a good idea of where to start looking! I'd also like to put down links for instructions to make your own. I could put something together but I thought I'd ask if anyone else has or if anyone who has actual talent in that area And can you tell I'm just so tickled at how many people compliment my beautiful baby and I? I'm new to the Brisbane area so I'm just thinking Brisbane people are great...I lived in country NSW/VIC when my first son was a baby and I never saw anyone else using a sling and the only stranger who complimented me using it was the local male librarian who thought my mei tai was gorgeous. |

I haven't worn both girls at once for a while, waiting til I stop feeling scar pain (paranoid about coming apart). But I still use the mei tai and Ergo to get Jools in/out of childcare, shopping etc. Or the ring sling on my hip at home if she just wants to be held and I just want to get stuff done. What are you finding difficult about carrying? Is it back pain?

i have ergo business cards in the pocket of my ergo and have handed out a couple while i was out and about with the family day care children and was asked about it....a leaflet about all the different ones would be fantastic to have to give to people who ask. My friend who has an ergo gets asked just about everytime she wears hers...she got asked at the airport by half a dozen mums! emma I will pm you too if you dont mind 'sending' me a copy of the leaflet thing you have too!!

Melbourne Alternative Parenting had lovely pamphlets on aspects of AP including babywearing. You could ask if they have any lying around. http://www.alternativebaby.net/ |

No - it's more my huge belly making it difficult to be comfortable, but also, the fact I have really low blood pressure ATM seems to be interfering aswell. As in, I feel whoozy and dizzy after about 5 mins of carrying little girl. So - I haven't bothered for about 4 weeks or more. It's really made life difficult for both bubby girl and me. Maybe I will give it another go
