Now Otto is 5 mths old i am trying out my slings ( I could not get them to be comfy when he was younger). I tried on the Ellaroo lightly padded sling this morning and we seemed to get the hang on it ( him in tummy carry type position). My question is about the arm of the shoulder the sling is over: It feels like this arm has restricted movement- I cant really raise it above breast height. Is this normal or am I positioning the sling incorrectly? The shoulder part of the sling is spead quite wide- from the neck down over the shoulder by approx 2 inches. Any ideas?? TIA!

Every carrier I've tried has restricted arm movement to some degree, unless a wrap with the shoulder straps really bunched which is only comfy for short periods, but a lot less than holding a baby with 2 hands! It sounds to me like you're doing it ok, as long as you're comfy and not in any pain - that's your signal that something is wrong. You could try moving it up your arm to give you more movement, until you find the point where it becomes uncomfortable. good luck, I hear DD on the stairs (she's loving this 2 storey stuff!)

I think all slings (except maybe those with the hotdog fold) will limit your movement to some degree. The Ellaroo is quite a wide shoulder but I've found that you can bunch it up a little I fold under the outside padding rather than just bunching it up & that gives me enough movement in my arm for most tasks. I'm sitting here using mine atm

thanks all- I used it a lot today and it was really comfy- just the arm movement thing. Now I have another question- I found the rings seemed to "settle" after awhile of wearing to my under my shoulder (sort of in the armpit). Any ideas??
